Stop 4: The Lime Truck in Manhattan, Kansas

There’s another Manhattan, home to Kansas State University, and they call themselves “the Little Apple”. The Lime Truck is there this weekend, and the college town is embracing the Gourmet Food Trucks.

The challenge on Saturday was the menu had to be only 99 cents. The lines were insanely long… Up to 3 hours! Thank you, Manhattan, for being great sports, and excellent foodies!

Here’s photos taken off twitter users @leoslo @wilsoms_au and @paifoods from Saturday’s lunch.

Menu:
Smokey mayo on fries
Chef choice truffle burger
Fried egg sandwich
Bbq cole slaw
Deep fried maple bacon
And… their signature Lime Aid!

Look at the lines!

Irvine: Chomp Chomp Truck

My sister Becky is my weekly guest blogger, reporting on food trucks from the Teller & Michelson lunch lot in Irvine, CA.

The Chomp Chomp truck was at the Teller Lot, and I went for the wagyu beef skewers, which came with a slaw, rice cubes and peanut sauce. Delicious as always!

Cerritos: Dim Sum Truck

There’s a new food gathering on Wednesday nights at the Cerritos Best Buy. This is about as close to the border the Orange County foodies will get to try LA trucks.

Today I just had Dim Sum truck’s “lunch box” consisting of Shu Mai (pork & shrimp dumplings), Ha Gow (shrimp dumplings), Sticky Rice (meat & vegetables steamed inside rice wrapped in a lotus leaf), steamed barbecue pork bun, and a sesame ball (sweet lotus paste inside a pastry ball rolled in sesame seeds).

The only thing I was missing was… a pot of hot tea.
