From the creator of @TheLimeTruck, new GFT @CravOnFries

Daniel Shemtob (founder of The Lime Truck and winner of season 2: Great Food Truck Race) has a new venture!  Its CravOn, a new, better-for-you french fry, made with all of the goodness and none of the fried-ness!

CravOn Never Fried French Fries are literally not fried. Instead, they are partially cooked in a blanching process and tossed in olive oil and sea salt prior to being frozen, resulting in a better-for-you french fry made with five natural ingredients, half the fat of regular fries (and none of the remorse), and a delicious, crispy texture that preserves the real potato taste consumers crave (is your mouth watering yet?).

In the last year and a half the Seabirds Truck has served over 50,000 Beer Battered Avocado Tacos, traveled over 20,000 miles, and driven through 6 states. We’ve burned through 10 oil changes, 3 engines, and 2 transmissions. We’ve shoveled 56,000 pounds of ice, refilled 43,000 gallons of water, and washed & chopped 3,000 bunches of local kale. We’ve had first degree burns, third degree burns, bumps, bruises and sprained ankles. Life on the road has been fun, but we think its time to plant some roots and have a place to call home.

Check out this video from CBS news regarding Chef Jason Quinn, and his restaurant The Playground.

Normally I refrain from giving my 2 cents, but yes I am a bit biased when it comes to Jason…. he really can’t do anything wrong 🙂

On-Line Food Fight Breaks Out In OC Between Reviewer And Eatery Owner:
Chef Jason Quinn said the customers who gave him a bad review are not allowed back in his restaurant, the Playground. He didn’t appreciate a bad review in Yelp and he went off.
