I won tickets to the CHOC event held at Knotts Berry Farm (see flyer in my event page). There were two trucks I’ve never tried, Tornado Potato and Rolling Sushi & Yogurt Van.

I started off with my favorite Greasy Weiner, and Martin picked up the Rolling Ball, a spicy tuna & crab inside an edible soy paper cup. He also ordered the Rainbow Roll which also came with edemame, salad & soup. A lady next to us ordered the spicy tuna roll, which liked delish.

While Martin ate his sushi, I went to Tornado Potato and Surfer Taco Co. Finally we ended our day at Chomp Chomp Nation. We bumped into @sidelinepunk in line and he ordered the Singapore sloppy joe & the S’mores. Martin ordered the Kaya French Toast, and I ordered the Crispy Shrimp and the Crab Shooter.

Industry: Lake Street Creamery & Madeline Grill at the San Gabriel Truck Fest

At the Speedway in Industry, CA

Lake Street Creamery

California Zephyr

Holiday Chocolate

Mandoline Grill’s bahn mi

On Friday, a bunch of LA & OC trucks were at the Speedway in the city of Industry.
I had a Ducks game before the food event, and went after… arriving at 10: 00 pm.

Most of the trucks were shut down or were running out of food. We stopped by Lake Street Creamery where Karen got a scoop of Holiday chocolate, and Martin got the California Zephyr. Unfortunately I’m lactose intolerant, so I went to Tropical Shave ice for my melona.  Martin also picked up a bahn mi from Madeline Grill.

Halo Halo
Matzo Soup

Canter’s truck

It’s been a while since I’ve visited a Gourmet truck… Two days, I think?

Tonight, Crepes Bonaparte partnered up with Piaggio & Calbi bbq at “Attic” in Buena Park. The special tonight was the Osso Bucco, and I also picked up the Pork sliders.

Karen went to Crepes and ordered the Ham & Egg crepe, and I got the Butter & Sugar crepe. Christian tried something new by using foil to package the crepe. It was more pretty than practical.

While eating at Buena Park, Karen & I decided it was still early enough to make a trip to Carson to get a Halo Halo from Tropical Shave Ice. I also picked up a container of Matzo soup from Canter’s, which I enjoyed at home.

Someone can claim them on December 16 at the OC Fairgrounds!

The OC Fair & Mobile Food Prop invited Orange County bloggers & foodies to a sneak peek of the New Year’s Eve countdown being hosted and held at the OC Fairgrounds.

The event will be family friendly, but not necessarily kid friendly. I’m thinking tweens or teens and older. There will be lots of music ranging from tribute bands to DJs to karaoke. In addition, there will be a Demolition Derby featuring OC Taxis, a hypnotist, and carnival style rides. Also over 30 Gourmet Food trucks from LA & OC will be serving food til 2 am, and alcohol will be available.

Tickets for general admission is $ 25, or VIP is $ 75, and does not include parking.

For more info, go to ocfair.com/blockparty. There will be a special “Block Party” event on Thursday, December 16 at 7 pm at the OC Fairgrounds, featuring Gourmet trucks.

While we were getting the NYE information, Chompchomp Nation provided us with dinner. We had their Root chips, the Tiger slaw, beef/chicken/lamb skewers with peanut or yogurt sauce, and French toast.

As bloggers, we were given two general admission tickets to GIVE AWAY to a follower. I’m thinking of giving my pair away at the December 16 event… Suggestions?
