I don’t know what is wrong with me, but normally I don’t get sick. Hmm, maybe it’s just me getting old (er) but my tummy was acting up again.

This morning we went to the OC GREAT PARK for brunch. Martin and Karen went for crepes while on I got a potato & sun dried frittata from Barcelona onthego.

Later that evening, we went to Calvary church in Santa Ana. Martin went for sliders, Karen went for empenadas, and I went for The Lime Truck’s tomato heirloom soup and grilled cheese and I also got a second soup (chicken noodle) from Oh For Sweets Sake.

Irvine: (at Blackmarket Bakery) Piaggio

Blackmarket Bakery was having an open house from 2-5 today and invited Piaggio, Burnt Truck, and Dogzilla. I was not in the mood for sliders or hot dogs, so I stuck with Piaggio with my pulled pork and veggie over rice.

Martin had chicken version, and we shared Piaggio’s special, which was an asparagus, mushroom quesadilla in a spinach tortilla.

Normally I am not a hot dog kind of gal. Today, I was really craving Taco Dawg’s Dirty Dawg, an all beef dog topped with chili, cheese, crumbled potato chips and onion rings. It was worth driving to Garden Grove, despite me getting lost returning back to work.

We have never been to the South Bay DindinaGoGo, and decided to try it out today. White Rabbit, Mambo juice, Mandolinegrill, KO Taco, Shrimp guys, Takoyakitanota, Lomo, and Tropical Shave Ice were there.

Kevin and Aluna were there, so we opted to grab a variety of food and just share.

We got the coconut shrimp, vietnamese bun (rice noodle), bahn mi pork sandwich, spaghetti noodles, fried rice, octopus, pineapple upside down cake, and the 808 shave ice.

The Thursday gathering at the OC Fair has been positively received. Having the Farmers Market adjacent also makes it nice for the public, where they can get fresh produce and a fresh gourmet lunch.

The Burnt Truck had bologna sliders as the Chef Special. Pairing it with tater tots made it nostalgic. I also added the Fried Chicken and Beef Dip sliders. To complete my lunch, I had the Cream Puff from Morsels Bakery Truck.

Osso Bucco

I never take for granted that every Wednesday that I can find a food truck gathering on Teller.

Today was an extra special treat for two reasons:
1) it was a gorgeous sunny California day and
2) I get to have lunch with my sister

Ok, ok, too sappy. Today Piaggio had Osso Bucco over rice on special, and Barcelona had a Duck pomegranate salad… Perfect for sharing!
