June 12: Balboa Strawberry Festival

Held in June of each year, the 2nd Annual Balboa Strawberry Festival is a celebration of summer, food and fun, held in Encino on Ventura Blvd. The Festival is centered around local residents’ love for delicious, California grown strawberries. Featuring tons of strawberry themed food and drink, plus live music, dancing, rides and games for the whole family, this is the PERFECT way to celebrate summer, and is FREE TO ATTEND!

Event highlights: Kids Zone, Strawberry Row, Strawberry Farmers, Beer & Wine Garden, Food Trucks, Music and more!

A free faily event in Encino on Sunday, June 12th. Event will take place on Ventura Blvd from Balboa to Amestory from 10am-6pm.

WHERE: The Autry in Griffith Park.  This is a very large, grassy lawn. You’ll want to bring pillows, cushions and blankets.

PRO TIP: Arrive early to take advantage of Free Admission to The Autry for all Eat|See|Hear ticket holders beginning at 5:30pm.

DOGS: Yes! This event is dog-friendly! All dogs are welcomed with a free biscuit at the door! Note: Dogs are not allowed inside the museum but are welcome everywhere else at the event.

ENTRANCE: The Autry is located inside Griffith Park. You may bike in or park for FREE at the LA Zoo parking lot.

SEATING/CHAIRS: This location is a sprawling, grassy lawn. Pillows, cushions and blankets are preferred, though low chairs with low backs are allowed. If you have a tall chair (like a lawn chair or camping style chair more than 6 inches off the ground) you will be required to sit outside the center of the venue, which is marked with signs on both the left & right side of the venue. There is ample room for chairs, so please don’t block the view of the person(s) behind you.

PARKING: FREE! Across the street at the LA Zoo Parking lot.

The Hollywood Beer and Music Festival is a exicting event celebrating craft beer and live music. The event is a collaborative effort of many production companies and breweries combining to raise many for a great cause. The event will feature unlimited samples of over 60 craft beers from local and regional breweries. The Avalon Main Stage will boast headlining artist and bands. The Outdoor Hollywood Lot will feature the power 106 flava Unit DJ Truck and Food Truck Festival. The event is a walk around event held during the middle of the day. The event will also feature a food truck pavillion and Private After Party.

Balboa (San Diego) Food Truck Fridays


Balboa Park will come alive after five this summer as the San Diego landmark launches its “Park After Dark” program, offering special nighttime attractions and deals.

“Balboa Park After Dark” starts this Friday and runs through Sept. 2. As part of the late-night program, 10 museums at the park plan to stay open until 8 p.m. or later so night owls can enjoy their offerings.

Joining “Park After Dark” will also be the “Food Truck Fridays” program. This will bring between eight and 10 gourmet food trucks to Plaza de Panama at the Prado walkway on a rotating basis, serving everything from appetizers to desserts under the stars.

The food trucks will run from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on June 3 and June 17, and then each Friday from July 1 through Sept. 2. The delicious lineup includes local favorites such as: Beachin’ Boba; Cousins Maine Lobster; Frida’s Cocina; Marcel Belgian Waffle; New Orleans Cuisine and Catering; Sweet Treats Ice Cream Motorcycle Sidecar; Tacos y Mariscos El Jefe; New York on Rye; Tabe BBQ.
