After we left Blackmarket Bakery, we went to the D-Rinks/ Anaheim Ice to catch the Servite vs Rancho Santa Margarita High School hockey game.
The game ended at 3:30, and we originally were going to attend the Anaheim Art Walk. However, that wasn’t starting until 6: 30, and I didn’t want to hang around 3 hours for food trucks.
We started driving around and saw that Tropical Shave Ice was at Vintage Renewal in Pomona, about 45 minutes from Anaheim.
Martin and I shared a Tocino bowl from TapaboyLA, then I ordered the Lobster Risotto from Vizzitruck.
Vizzi only makes 2 orders of Risotto per day because of the high price (it’s a $24 item), and I didn’t realize how lucky I was. Since the risotto is cooked to order, I decided to have dessert first at Tropical Shave Ice, and Martin went to the Sweets Truck and had the Gourmet Ding Dong.

The Blackmarket Bakery hosts an open house throughout the year to promote their scrumptious baked good, cakes and other creations.
Today they also invited food trucks Piaggioonwheels and Dogzilla in the celebration. I went to Piaggio for lunch and ordered a pulled pork taco, an Argentine steak taco, and Caprese (mozzarella, basil, tomatoes) empenadas.
Meanwhile, Martin went to Dogzilla and ordered the namesake, The Dogzilla.
While waiting for my food, Blackmarket was letting the patrons try their pastries. I was able to get a lemon tart, a white cake with italian buttercreme, and a chocolate cake with italian buttercreme.
While getting my coffee, the barista asked Martin if we were going to the Anaheim Art Walk. My first thought was, huh? I missed that?
Anyway, tonight there’s a truck gathering at downtown Anaheim from 5-11 pm.
Check @seabirdstruck for more info.
Scheduled to appear are Seabirds, Kogi, Barcelona, Crepes bonaparte, Chunk n Chip

At Baconmania, I tried the Cheese and Bacon chips, and Karen ordered the “Mom’s meatloaf” topped with mashed potatoes and an order of fries. I also ordered my favorite comfort food, the Smoked turkey over creamed corn from the Shortstopbbq truck. Yah, the picture comes out bland, but it’s still one of my favorite dish.
Meanwhile, Martin gets the When Pigs Fry sandwich from the OC Food Truck, slightly modified. It’s a tempura bacon and avocado sandwich normally with squaw bread, but the truck ran out of the bread and subbed it with sour dough.
We ended this stop with dessert from Bakery Truck, a lemon raspberry cupcake and a strawberry banana shot.
Now… Off to Noble Ale Works in search of SUSHI!

Tonight the Ducks were in Vancouver, so we were able to make OCDinDinaGoGo.
Piaggio had Brazilian Fish Cakes on the menu and I’ve been wanting to try it since Lent (of last year).
While walking around, I went to check out the Lime Truck’s menu. They had a menu item for $18. I blinked. Not $8… Eighteen. It was a Prime pork tenderloin with risotto. To be more specific, Prararie Farms Prime grade pork tenderloin with risotto cakes, pickled romanesco, stained glass onions & demi glace pears. Whew! They served it on a real plate too (we had to return the plate).
While I was waiting for my food, Martin went to Dos Chinos for his shrimp taco, and went to the OC Food Truck for a Shrimp Tempura burger.
For dessert we went to Tropical Shave Ice, and stopped at The Bakery Truck for a Cream Puff to go.
