Lentil & Serano ham soup from Barcelona on the go
Spanish Mac & Cheese from Barcelona onthego
Cream Puff from Morsels
Grape leaves & Chicken skewers from Louks
Bahama Mama from Chunk n Chip

Fullerton is home to a new food gathering on Thursdays. Tonight at the Carter bowl, 7 trucks came to the first night.

Even though my favorite truck Greasy Wiener was there, I passed it to try the chow fun by Don Chows. I also picked up a bowl of lentil soup from Barcelona, and Karen & I shared the Spanish Mac & cheese from there as well. For dessert I enjoyed my cream puff from Morsels.

Martin ordered the grape leaves & chicken skewers from Louks, and friends Sandy & Wally ordered the Bahama Mama from Chunk n chip.

Los Alamitos: the Lime Truck, White Rabbit, Lomo Arigato, Crazy Creole Cafe, Tropical Shave Ice

Meat & Potatoes from The Lime Truck
Lumpia from the White Rabbit Truck
Jambalaya from Crazy Creole Cafe
Rum cake from Crazy Creole
Tropical Shave Ice

Martin took off to Lake Forest Lanes and I met up with Karen at Los Alamitos. My in laws John & Lisa met me there and had Lomo Arigato (not pictured).

The Lime truck had “Meat & Potatoes” which was a very rare steak served over truffled garlic mashed potatoes. The White Rabbit also was there and I FINALLY got my order of pork lumpia (it only took 4 attempts) and split it (with an order of Lomo noodles) with Karen.

Johnny was there and he ordered the jambalaya from Crazy Creole Cafe. The order took twenty minutes, but he forgave them since they were a new truck. He also picked up the Jack Daniel cake for dessert.

For me, I’m not that adventurous. I kept to my Melona-Vanilla Tropical Shave ice.

Spanish french toast
Nothing Egg-citing about fried eggs 🙂
At the Tom’s Shoes charity event
Dino created a unique design on my Toms shoes
While he designed, I had a Tropical Shave Ice outside

The farmers market at The Great Park was not very busy today. Then again, it was a rather dreary day with a chance of rain.

Martin and Karen went for Crepes Bonaparte while I went for Barcelona onthego’s Spanish frittata consisting of potato, sun dried tomatoes & artichoke hearts, the Spanish french toast and a side of fried eggs.

After brunch, Karen and I went to Cypress for Shave Ice and to support a Toms shoes
charity event to “Adopt a Family”.

Industry: Lake Street Creamery & Madeline Grill at the San Gabriel Truck Fest

At the Speedway in Industry, CA

Lake Street Creamery

California Zephyr

Holiday Chocolate

Mandoline Grill’s bahn mi

On Friday, a bunch of LA & OC trucks were at the Speedway in the city of Industry.
I had a Ducks game before the food event, and went after… arriving at 10: 00 pm.

Most of the trucks were shut down or were running out of food. We stopped by Lake Street Creamery where Karen got a scoop of Holiday chocolate, and Martin got the California Zephyr. Unfortunately I’m lactose intolerant, so I went to Tropical Shave ice for my melona.  Martin also picked up a bahn mi from Madeline Grill.

Buena Park : Piaggio, Crepes Bonaparte (and) Carson: Canter’s, Tropical Shave Ice

Osso Bucco
Pork Sliders
Crepes Bonaparte
Ham, Cheese & Egg crepe
Butter & sugar crepe

Halo Halo
Matzo Soup

Canter’s truck

It’s been a while since I’ve visited a Gourmet truck… Two days, I think?

Tonight, Crepes Bonaparte partnered up with Piaggio & Calbi bbq at “Attic” in Buena Park. The special tonight was the Osso Bucco, and I also picked up the Pork sliders.

Karen went to Crepes and ordered the Ham & Egg crepe, and I got the Butter & Sugar crepe. Christian tried something new by using foil to package the crepe. It was more pretty than practical.

While eating at Buena Park, Karen & I decided it was still early enough to make a trip to Carson to get a Halo Halo from Tropical Shave Ice. I also picked up a container of Matzo soup from Canter’s, which I enjoyed at home.

Costa mesa: Barcelona, Shortstop bbq

Lentil & Serrano Ham soup
Smoked duck w/ creamed corn and fries
Pulled pork sliders with creamed corn
Tri tip with bleu cheese slaw & chicken with bbq slaw sliders

There’s one way to get the husband to the mall… Feed him first. Lucky for me there’s a food truck gathering at the SoCo in Costa Mesa. Today Chompchomp, Calbi, Barcelona, Morsels, & Shortstop bbq were there.

It was a sunny day, but just enough chill to order a lentil & ham soup from Barcelona.

I also got the limited Duck plate (sans sauce) plus 2 sides from Shortstop, leaving me too full to grab anything else… Well except a fresh baked cookie from Morsels.

Martin got his usual sliders from Shortstop: tri-tip, chicken & pork.
