Nov 26: Food trucks in Santa Ana + Costa Mesa on Black Friday!

Los Alamitos: Eat Phamish, Morsels Bakery Truck

Vietnamese noodle soup (pho ga)
Morsel’s cream puff
(one of my favorites)
Banana cream dessert shot
Fresh chocolate chip cookie
It was scalding hot!

Tonight the Los Al Din Din had a great line up with Lomo, Lime Truck, Vizzi Truck, and guest trucks: Takoyakitanota (the Octopus truck), Shrimp Guys, and Eat Phamish.

When we arrived not all the trucks were there. It was cold and rain was heading our way, a hot bowl of vietnamese noodle soup (pho) was ideal. The bowl was pretty large (surprisingly) I didn’t have room to eat other items from other trucks. Well, I did leave room for my cream puff, and Karen had room for a dessert shot & a hot, fresh chocolate chip cookie, also from Morsels.

Irvine: Piaggio, Shortstop bbq, The Lime Truck, Morsels Bakery Truck

Piaggio on wheel’s Osso Buco
Shortstop BBQ’s turkey with cranberry bbq sauce
Dos Chino’s pork belly taco
Morsel’s bakery cream puff
The Lime Truck’s steak taco w/ mango salsa
The Lime Truck’s japanese chilies

Tonight (thanks to Saturday Night Foodies) there were 20 trucks at the Verizonwireless Amphitheater raising money and food for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

I wanted to try all the trucks but narrowed it to Piaggio’s osso bucco, Shortstop bbq’s turkey sandwich in a cranberry bbq sauce, Dos Chinos’ pork bellies taco, and dessert from Morsels Bakery truck.

Martin went to Lime Truck and got the steak taco with mango salsa and an order of the japanese chilies.

Irvine: Piaggio, Crepes Bonaparte, Tropical Shave Ice, Kidbeanz

Filet Mignon over Chimi Rice & Asparagus
Banana, Strawberry & Nutella crepe
Hawaiian Shave ice!
Getting a shot.. of espresso from Kidbeanz

My apologies for this delayed post. Having an extra 2 days off messed up my schedule. Ok, not true, but that is my weak excuse.

It’s nice we can have a place to go on Sundays. The line up at this week’s OC GREAT PARK was Louks, Piaggio, Barcelona, Chompchomp, Crepes, Dogzilla, Tropical Shave Ice, and coffee truck Kidbeanz.

Piaggio had a filet mignon sandwich that I had converted into a rice & asparagus plate. Karen got her favorite: a banana, strawberry & nutella crepe from Crepe Bonaparte, and we also picked up a tofu satay at Chompchomp (not pictured).

For dessert, we always save room for Shave Ice (shocking, I know), and on our way out we picked up a macchiato and a mocha from Kidbeanz. I didn’t post a photo of the coffees… apologies.

Carson/Torrance: Dumpling station, the Greasy Weiner, Mighty Boba Truck

Dumpling Station
Pork & leek dumplings and Pork & veg dumplings
Chili dog from The Greasy Wieners
The Mighty Boba Truck

The Veterans Day continued at the Carson kmart, and then a new truck gathering at the Torrance kmart.

The Carson location had resident trucks Tropical Shave Ice & Lomo Arigato with Dumpling Station, Taco Surfer, White Rabbit, Mambo, Buttermilk, Ludo and the octopus one.

Buttermilk took too long to open, and Rabbit’s menu was half missing. Karen & I split an order of stream pork & leek, pork & veg dumplings, before taking off to Torrance.

Torrance had famous Nom Nom truck, Ragin Cajun, Greasy Weiner, Calbi, Morsels Bakery, Mighty Boba, Chunk n Chip, and Baja.

Martin got the combo from Ragin Cajun (not pictured), and I got a chili dog from the Greasy Weiner and a boba drink (not pictured).
