It’s the day before Thanksgiving and also the Wednesday OC DIN DIN A GO GO in Irvine.

Tonight’s trucks were resident gfts Lomo, Piaggio, Tropical, Dos Chinos and Lime Truck. The guest trucks were Ahn-Joo korean snack truck, Chunk n Chip, and Chompchomp.

Piaggio arrived with some added color wrap, which made the truck look very nice.

For dinner I ordered the Ahn-Joo fried chicken, skirt steak taco from Piaggio, and the pork belly “bolsa” taco from Dos Chinos. On my way out, I picked up the Tortilla Soup from the Lime Truck so I’ll have something while I make the Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.

Yalla classic

Baba Ghanoush (see description above)
Coffee Creme Brulee
Fries w/ sea salt
Spanish chilaquiles

This week a truck “new” to the OC came to Los Al, the Yalla truck. They are a vegetarian truck specializing in falafel, which is made of chickpeas.

Martin had one of their pitas and Karen had their appetizers, which I took a rare photo of the menu description.

I had fries and Chef Jennifer’s coffee creme brulee from Barcelona onthego, while my nephew had the Chilaquiles, also from Barcelona onthego.

Irvine: Piaggio, Crepes Bonaparte, Tropical Shave Ice, Kidbeanz

Filet Mignon over Chimi Rice & Asparagus
Banana, Strawberry & Nutella crepe
Hawaiian Shave ice!
Getting a shot.. of espresso from Kidbeanz

My apologies for this delayed post. Having an extra 2 days off messed up my schedule. Ok, not true, but that is my weak excuse.

It’s nice we can have a place to go on Sundays. The line up at this week’s OC GREAT PARK was Louks, Piaggio, Barcelona, Chompchomp, Crepes, Dogzilla, Tropical Shave Ice, and coffee truck Kidbeanz.

Piaggio had a filet mignon sandwich that I had converted into a rice & asparagus plate. Karen got her favorite: a banana, strawberry & nutella crepe from Crepe Bonaparte, and we also picked up a tofu satay at Chompchomp (not pictured).

For dessert, we always save room for Shave Ice (shocking, I know), and on our way out we picked up a macchiato and a mocha from Kidbeanz. I didn’t post a photo of the coffees… apologies.

Carson/Torrance: Dumpling station, the Greasy Weiner, Mighty Boba Truck

Dumpling Station
Pork & leek dumplings and Pork & veg dumplings
Chili dog from The Greasy Wieners
The Mighty Boba Truck

The Veterans Day continued at the Carson kmart, and then a new truck gathering at the Torrance kmart.

The Carson location had resident trucks Tropical Shave Ice & Lomo Arigato with Dumpling Station, Taco Surfer, White Rabbit, Mambo, Buttermilk, Ludo and the octopus one.

Buttermilk took too long to open, and Rabbit’s menu was half missing. Karen & I split an order of stream pork & leek, pork & veg dumplings, before taking off to Torrance.

Torrance had famous Nom Nom truck, Ragin Cajun, Greasy Weiner, Calbi, Morsels Bakery, Mighty Boba, Chunk n Chip, and Baja.

Martin got the combo from Ragin Cajun (not pictured), and I got a chili dog from the Greasy Weiner and a boba drink (not pictured).

Los Alamitos: the Lime Truck, Louks

Tri tip chili from Lime Truck
Reuben sandwich from The Lime Truck
Shrimp skewer & beef skewer from Louks

Today at lunch I went to a brick & mortar korean restaurant for tofu and bulgogi beef. The lunch was so filling, I wasn’t that hungry for dinner.

From the Lime Truck, I got the tri-tip chili over sweet potato fries, and Martin got the special Reuben sandwich. From Louks, I got a shrimp skewer and a beef skewer.

I did end the evening with a shave ice…and yes, it was cold!
