Mahalo Bowl from the Bay Area needs help on Kickstarter
The Acaistas of Mahalo Bowl are bringing delicious Acai Bowls to you aboard the Bay Area’s very first Acai Bowl truck!
What is an Acai Bowl?
Acai Bowls have two parts: the blend and the toppings. The blend is made with the frozen pulp of Acai berries blended with a variety of other fruits. Think of it like a smoothie blend, but much thicker. The frozen fruits used in various Mahalo Bowls include strawberries, blueberries, bananas, mango, raspberries and papaya. Put the blend in a bowl and then add the second part – the toppings.
The toppings consist of a variety of fresh organic fruit, organic granola and clover honey. The fresh organic fruits used to top various Mahalo Bowls include bananas, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi and raspberries with other other delicious toppings such as coconut shavings, almond slices and goji berries. There are few things better than delicious fruit and we believe that some of the best and freshest fruit comes from California which is why we are committed to supporting California farms that can provide the needed fruits to make these bowls.
Our Acai Bowls are all natural with no added sugar and certainly no high fructose corn syrup. As a result these delicious bowls fill you up but never slow you down .

LA County Fair ends Sept 29
You know the latest rage in Los Angeles is the Food Truck craze. Well, we’ll have an array of food trucks with a variety of menus for you to try right here at the Fair. Don’t miss the Grilled Cheese Truck or the Vietnamese Sandwich Truck with its fresh baked baguettes and pickled onions and carrots atop each sandwich.
It’s ok to indulge at the Fair, so you should also try one of our many scrumptious and decadent desserts. CB Cupcakes will be back with their fine gourmet treats. Try a crepe or a piece of cheesecake on a stick. How about a fondue dessert platter, which can be found at the Wine & Spirits Marketplace? Follow that with chocolate-dipped licorice! Healthy desserts are on the menu, too – Fruit Caboose and Terri’s Berries offer fresh fruit and smoothies.
If you prefer a sit-down meal, try Maria’s Italian Kitchen, located in the Avalon restaurant across from the Grandstand. This is Maria’s second year at the Fair, serving delicious Italian food.
Don’t forget the ol’ stand-bys – Hot Dog on a Stick, Pink’s, King Taco, Pork Chop on a Stick, Tasti Chips, a Blooming Onion and a giant turkey leg. A visit to the Fair can satisfy any craving!
The L.A. County Fair opens Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4 – 6 and then Wednesday – Sunday, Sept. 8 – Oct. 3, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Live thoroughbred horse racing at Fairplex Park will be Sept. 9 – Sept. 27, dark Mondays Sept. 13, 20 and Tuesdays.
