    That’s what you get when Dante Fried Chicken opens a taco stand located in a barber shop parking lot! But, SHHH!!! keep on the low. We will be open more regularly this summer, but in the meantime, we invite DFC Family & Friends come join us for our soft opening of the new DFC Taco Stand!

    Sock-It-To-Me Fried Chicken Taco
    DFC’s Signature pasture-raised Fried Chicken recipe topped with Apricot Crack sauce, avocado, and Toasted Almond Coconut Milk Slaw on a Homemade Black Sesame Tortilla.

    Blueberry Guiness Smoked Brisket
    DFC’s humanely-raised beef brisket seasoned like a MUTHA#$%, then smoked for 9-13 hours, sliced up, simmered in our own Blueberry and Guinness BBQ sauce topped with Toasted Almond Coconut Milk Slaw on a Homemade Black sesame tortilla.

    NEW FOR 2012: The inaugural Food Truck Festival, Monday, July 2, in the Infield.

    Sample some of the best food on four wheels at the Fair’s first Food Truck Festival!

    This new festival is still in the planning stages. We will post information about it at a later date, probably sometime in late April.

    Date: Friday-Sunday, June 24-26, 2011
    Time: Friday, 5:00-9:00PM;
    Saturday (two sessions), 11:00AM-3:00PM or 4:00-8:00PM
    Sunday, 1:00-5:00PM
    Location: Chevrolet Del Mar Arena
    Prices: $45.00 per session, which includes Fair admission.
    $32.00 per session, without Fair admission (for those with Fair season passes, for instance), available at the beer festival entrance.
    These prices include a souvenir tasting cup and a wristband that entitles the wearer to unlimited one-ounce samplings of beer entered in the festival competition. You must be 21 or older to purchase wristband vouchers.
    Where to buy tickets: Tickets are on sale at the Fairgrounds Box Office, located on the north side of the Main Parking Lot. Hours are 10:00AM to 6:00PM Tuesday through Saturday. During the Fair, the packages described above are on sale at the Fair’s Concert Ticket Booths. Tickets also may be purchased online through Ticketmaster (an extra convenience fee will apply for online purchases).

    June 9: Farm to Food Truck Challenge III

    Save the date for our SoCo Farmers’ Market Clash of the Titans, on June 9th.
     
    Our Farm to Food Truck Challenge III brings an epic challenge, where our Gourmet Food Trucks compete to win Top Chop Truck, using ingredients from our farmers market. Competitors of the Farm to Food Truck I, come back to defend their title, against challengers of our Farm to Food Truck II. Add some new faces to these fierce food truck competitors, and you’ve got yourself a battle.

    Who will compete? Who will be the judge? All will be revealed as the June 9th date charges closer, promising a challenge of epic proportions. As 20 farmers and vendors, 15 food trucks, and 6 judges all come together at SoCo Farmers’ Market.
