July 28 – 29: Los Angeles, Renegade Craft Fair

We’re finishing up the West Coast leg of our 2012 RCF summer tour with the 4th Annual Renegade Craft Fair Los Angeles on July 28+29 from 11am-7pm both days, at the Los Angeles State Historic Park! Get ready for hundreds of today’s best indie crafters, hands-on workshops, music, food trucks, booze + oh so much more. Get ready Los Angeles, it’s gonna be a good one.
You’ll be able to get crafty with all kinds of awesome workshops from the likes of the Urban Craft Center (they’ll be teaching needle felting from their awesome RV o’ craft), L.A. Zine Fest (try your hand at the art of zine-making!), and SideStreet Projects (check out woodworking demos from their converted schoolbus!).
As always, our favorite free-to-use photobooth from Magnolia Photobooth Co. will be in full effect, and DJs from KXLU will be spinning our crafting + shopping soundtrack.  Attendees can help LA’s four-legged friends find a forever home with Second Acts Animal Rescue. We’ll also have several of LA’s finest food trucks on hand!

July 28: Fontana Arts Festival

Come out to the 4th annual Fontana Arts Festival for an evening of celebrating the arts! Take a stroll down the Artwalk where 50 local artists will showcase and sell their creations! Guest artists will also hold live demonstrations and hands-on workshops for attendees of all ages.

Be inspired by the variety of performances, including soulful jazz harp music by The Lori Andrews JazHarp Trio and snippets from the popular Broadway show, Hats, by Stargazer Productions. Other performers include Lula Washington Dance Theatre performing contemporary African-American dances; Cheng-Hsin Chinese Zither Orchestra of Los Angeles playing traditional Chinese music; Carole Lynne Dance Studio showcasing youth ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and Polynesian dances; and traditional Mexican son jarocho music by Conjunto Jardin.

The City is thrilled to announce that we will have present the popular gourmet food trucks Short Rib BBQZZ Truck, and The Cupcake Place!The event is free! Event parking is also free and will be available at Fontana Park and Summit High School.

You’ve seen them on TV, you’ve heard about them from your friends, and now they’re coming to The Shops at Dos Lagos in Corona on Saturday, August 25th! The Corona Gourmet Food Truck Festival will feature 40 gourmet food trucks serving a variety of delicious dishes and tasty treats.
Grab a cold microbrew from Hangar 24 Craft Brewery. Visit the Taste of Dos Lagos to sample food, wine, and cocktails from the various restaurants on the property including RA Sushi, Miguel’s California Mexican Cocina, TGI Friday’s, TAPS Fish House and Brewery, Citrus City Grille, Steam Haus Gastropub, and Pinkberry! The festival will feature live entertainment throughout the day, the Smart & Final Cool Zone, and even an option to be treated like a V.I.P. It’s a day of Food, Family & Fun!

Tickets include admission to the festival. Food and beverages are not included.

July 21: Bloomfest LA

FOOD TRUCKS + CARTS

Presented at 3rd Street and Traction Avenue in the Downtown Arts District, BloomfestLA offers live indie music, local artisan wares, and good food amidst a rotating outdoor gallery of street art by renowned artists.

The Downtown Arts District consists of artist studios, coffeehouses such as Urth Caffé and Novel Café, restaurants such as Wurstküche and Café Metropol, creative entrepreneurs, art galleries, nonprofits such as Cornerstone Theater Company and Art Share Los Angeles, industrial businesses, and government agencies anchored by the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). It is in the heart of the City of Los Angeles CleanTech Corridor, which is building a new business center and campus for developing clean and sustainable technologies scheduled to open in 2013.

The boundaries of the Downtown Arts District are Alameda Street on the west, the Los Angeles River on the east, the 101 Freeway on the north, and 7th Street on the south.

The community event is organized in partnership with the Los Angeles River Artist & Business Association (LARABA), a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the Downtown Arts District.
