THE AMAZING GOURMET FOOD TRUCK RACE
EAT YOUR WAY AROUND LOS ANGELES
IN THE MOST UNIQUE SCAVENGER HUNT EVER.

Season 2 for the Great Food Truck Race is being filmed right now HAS FINISHED FILMING. I was in Las Vegas, where one of my favorite OC Trucks, The Lime Truck was competing against other food trucks to stay in the Race.
Please check out the posts on what I ate in Vegas from The Lime Truck, and some production photos of two food truck teams (Hodge Podge & Devilicious) “strategizing” their next move in Las Vegas. This segment is supposed to air August 14.
The following week I made a VERY spontaneous trip with my husband (and dog @Perritolulu) from Brea, CA to Salt Lake City, UT. The drive wasn’t that bad… the trip took 10.5 hours each way, and you can click here to see what The Lime Truck was serving up there on Saturday.
Here are the trucks in the Race. I won’t be posting any spoilers (not intentionally)
Please follow me on twitter for clues on the next filming location.
I’ll try to post updates here when I “hear” them on twitter.
If you click here, I’ve sorted the posts that are relating to the Great Food Truck Race 2 and the cities. If you do eat at the Lime Truck… Tell them you saw pictures of their food from “Callmemochelle’s” blog! It won’t get you anything… but MAYBE a laugh or two.
The Food Network issued a press release, including the cities the trucks will be in…

GREAT FOOD TRUCK RACE TIMELINE
Disclaimer: these can all be found on twitter but the information may not be 100% accurate
“The trucks determine their locations once they reach the city (on Friday) and determine the most effective way to promote/market that location. We cannot provide specific information. It’s a very underground/viral production,” a spokesperson said in an email.

Chris Rocke, the owner of barbecue truck Rancho a GoGo said, “I had the idea to see if the food trucks that gather in Los Al on Thursday’s Picnic at the Plaza would be interested in raising funds.” Rocke says Officer Garton’s widow and two young sons live in Los Alamitos, so the idea spread quickly among other truck owners through Wendy Watson of GotFoodTrucks.com, the organizer of the weekly clustertruck.
According to Rocke, each truck is pledging 10% of sales this Thursday, which will go directly to the Garton family.
This week’s participants include:
Ragin Cajun on Wheels
Crepes Bonaparte
The Flip Truck
Kona Ice Beach Cities
Oh For Sweet’s Sake
Ranchan Ramen
Rancho a Go Go
SlapFish Truck
Swinging Kitchen
Picnic at the Plaza is held in the parking lot of US Bank at 10942 Pine St, Los Alamitos every Thursday between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Proceeds will be donated to a trust fund set up by the Hawthorne Police Officers Association. Individual donors may send checks payable to “Officer Andrew Garton Family c/o HPOA.”

Although food trucks are occasionally snubbed by those who aren’t in the know, these mobile eateries often turn out amazing culinary creations. College students with food trucks on campus know how great they have it — instead of schlepping off campus to pick up something interesting to eat, the food trucks make it easy to eat right where you are by physically driving to where customers flock. Not every school is lucky enough to have one or more food trucks serving their campus, but the students enjoying these trucks in particular surely understand how fortunate they are.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Crepes Bonaparte Founder to Launch Brats Berlin German Bratwurst Truck
Orange County, CA – June 6, 2011 – After operating Crepes Bonaparte gourmet food truck for over a year in Orange County and Los Angeles – leading it to success on Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race” and Cooking Channel’s “Food Truck Revolution” – founder Christian Murcia is launching Brats Berlin German bratwurst truck.
Brats Berlin will serve a selection of authentic German sausages and fresh cut Belgian fries – all from a truck hand painted by local street artist Evolve.
Designed to be reminiscent of East Side Gallery in Berlin, Germany, the exterior of the truck will be redesigned every few months to feature a new artist’s work.
Truck schedule locations and menus will be available on Brats Berlin’s website (BratsBerlin.com), Twitter (Twitter.com/BratsBerlin) and Facebook (Facebook.com/BratsBerlin).
Brats Berlin is scheduled to begin serving OC and LA in July 2011.
A group of us from Orange County and from Atlanta flew to Miami to support The Lime Truck with the Great Food Truck Race.
The Race was very close, but I won’t spill what happened.
Enjoy the pictures of the weekend. GO LIME TRUCK!!
