Heirloom-LA Food Truck Wins Coveted Los Angeles Magazine Best Of Award
Congratulations to Heirloom-LA from Windows Phone!
LA Magazine’s Best Of Issue, an extensively researched awards process anonymously chosen by the publication’s editors, named Heirloom-LA’s Food Truck the 2011 recipient for the “Best Gourmet Food Truck” category.  The entire LA food truck scene was taken into account by the judging panel and Heirloom’s locally sourced ingredients along with their nationally recognized lasagna cupcakes  reigned supreme. 
The August issue of Los Angeles Magazine hits stands this week, pick up a copy and keep an eye on www.lamag.com for the rest of the Best Of list.

Aug 5: SGV Foodtruck Fest Has a New Location

 Due to issues with City of Industry regulations concerning food trucks, we are (hopefully temporarily) de-camping from our awesome hosts, SpeedZone, and moving about 3 miles down to Southland Christian School on 1920 Brea Canyon Cut Off Rd Walnut, CA 91789.

This new location has plenty of parking while still providing a great venue for eating and EATING.  There’ll be plenty of chairs and tables as well as a guest DJ to provide that grub’n music.  What’s also great is there won’t be an entrance fee!

Since this new location was sort of short notice, we’ll be working with a smaller but kick-ass roster of trucks for July, but we’ll have the whole gang and more for next month.

We hope to see you guys there: Same time, different place, but definitely the same flavor!

On July 23, a “Chop” style food challenge was held at the SoCo Farmers Market in Costa Mesa.

Nine of Orange County’s food trucks participated and four of Orange County’s top bloggers were judges, along with a contest winner.

“Food Truck Food Court” will be at San Diego Comic-Con

A “Food Truck Food Court” will be at San Diego Comic-Con this year, greatly increasing the number of dining/eating options at SDCC!  Here are the details:

  • Location: The lot located at the 1st/Island/2nd/J lot.
  • When: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (some trucks will be there on Sunday but most won’t)
  • They will be selling from 10:00 am-10:00 pm, although most trucks will be gone by 8:00pm
  • The entrance will be off 1st Ave, right next to the Comedy Central interactive park.  Warner Brothers and Disney will also be doing projects in the lot.
  • Trucks scheduled to be there include: Chop Sooey, Patty Melt, Super Q, Asian Persuasion, Two For The Road, Devilicious, SD Street Eats, Flippin Pizza and Green Truck. This list may change!
  • Important note–there is NO public parking in the lot.
