Food trucks headed to Chapman University

(from the Fast Food Maven)

Details are a bit sketchy, but it looks as if Chapman University is close to inking a deal to host two Orange County food trucks on campus.

Here’s what we know:  Spudrunners and Chronic Tacos are hammering out a deal to rotate their trucks between the main campus and the film school.  The campus is located in Old Towne Orange.

“Chapman is excited about this possibility,” said university spokeswoman Mary Platt. “It’ll add variety to food options on campus.”

The Chronic Tacos truck is a new food truck by the Orange County-based taco chain.  The company is working with Spudrunners, which sells its spud dishes and gourmet grilled sandwiches at Cal State Fullerton.

Spudrunners owner Bob Brown said he plans to keep his CSUF lunch gig, where more trucks will soon be added like Crepes Bonaparte.

“We’re going to rotate the trucks at each campus,” Brown said.

Brown, who organizes evening truck events in Orange and Tustin, said he’ll be debuting a new truck and a few new menu items in March.  Stay tuned for more details on the trucks’ Chapman University schedule
