Whether you’re surfing in Malibu, grabbing a bite in Pasadena, or hiking the hills in one of our amazing parks, without a doubt… Los Angeles is the place to be. It’s the entertainment capital of the world and a paradise of sun, beach and good times. Just like our vast metropolis, Street Food Cinema has developed 12 different locations to provide moviegoers with more chances to catch their favorite flick on the big screen.

Come early and catch top local bands and see if you’re lucky enough to get chosen for our nightly audience game. And, of course, we all know some of the tastiest eats comes from a food truck so we’re curating the best of the best to fill your belly, mind and soul as the sun sets and the movie beings.

Touch A Truck San Diego 2016

Max’s Ring of Fire – Touch A Truck San Diego

Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (PDT)

The most anticipated family-friendly, fundraising festival of the year is revving its engine! Mark your calendar for Sunday, May 22 (10:00am-2:00pm) and roll out to Canyon Crest Academy in Carmel Valley for an incredible day benefiting toddlers, kids and teens in their fight against cancer.

Haven’t been to Touch A Truck yet? Here’s the deal… You’ll find military and emergency response vehicles, race cars, motorcycles and off-road trucks, construction vehicles of all types, classic cars and trash trucks… even a stage coach and helicopter. This kid-friendly, gearhead extravaganza is a hit with kids of all ages because all of these vehicles are open for you to climb in the drivers seat, honk the horn and meet the men and women who drive them everyday. You’ll also rub elbows with a host of Star Wars characters, play games, enter a raffle, hula hoop to live music from local bands, eat lunch from a food truck (of course!), play laser tag, drink lemonade and go on a scavenger hunt. Yeah… all that!

This year Touch A Truck will limit attendance making this a truly exclusive experience: less people = shorter lines = more time to see, do and explore!

Fundraise for Free Admission and Great Prizes

You have the opportunity to earn free admission and other cool stuff by opening a fundraising page. Your minimum goal of $100 gets you free admission for one child and one adult, with more great stuff as you reach further milestones. You’ll also help us spread awareness about kid’s cancer while you raise money. Buy your tickets here first, then you’ll be prompted to open a fundraising page on Crowdrise. If you have more than one kid, you should open a fundraising page for each one. It’ll all make sense once you get rolling – but we’ll be here to help!

Northern Trust Open was #NotJustGolf

The Northern Trust Open is among the most respected golf tournaments on the PGA TOUR and was held February 15-21 , 2016 at the historic Riviera Country Club, in the upscale Los Angeles suburb of Pacific Palisades. The Northern Trust Open attracts the best professional golfers from Bubba Watson, Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, to the 2015 defending champion James Hahn.  Unlike last year, which was cold and raining, the weather for this year was a beautiful, sunny Southern California day. It was in the mid-70’s with mild winds… a perfect day to follow the activities on the golf course, and take in some of the whimsical activities the tournament offered.

Back for the second year, the Northern Trust Open offered attendees #MoreThanGolf through tastes of Los Angeles’ famous gourmet food trucks.Wise Barbeque, Cousins Maine Lobster, The Grilled Cheese Truck and Baby’s Badass Burgers. The food trucks were located in The Promenade, and provided a welcome escape from the intensity of the tournament.

“The food trucks at The Promenade were hopping at last year’s event, and we’re thrilled these popular staples of the LA food scene are back at the Northern Trust Open in 2016, as well as the addition of the NutriBullet Food Truck,” said Northern Trust Open Executive Director O.D. Vincent. “LA is known for its unique cuisine, so it’s only fitting that the city’s iconic golf event bring the best flavors of the surrounding area to its fans at The Riviera Country Club. I’m confident we’ll have something for everyone, and the fan experience is going to be that much more memorable because of it.”

I was there on Saturday, and at 11:00 am, the lines for the various food trucks were intertwined. Based on experience, I knew Cousins Maine Lobster was the fastest truck because the lobsters were already cooked. Prices were higher than normal, but nonetheless, the trucks were once again a hit of the event.

The final day  was Sunday, where Bubba Watson won the tournament with a (-15). For highlights of the tournament, follow hashtags #NTOpen2016 or @NTOpen on instagram.
