New evening series features live music, comedy, food trucks, and libations under the evening sky at the wildest place in L.A
Roaring Nights, a new 18-and-up nighttime series presented at the L.A. Zoo by the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA), will launch on Thursday, July 11, and will included special zoo-themed food and beverage offerings by Coolhaus, Crepe’n Around, Grilled Cheese Truck, and Komodo Truck. Roaring Nights marks the first time ever that the zoo will host food trucks on its stunning grounds, in addition to live music from local bands, dancing with DJ MORNINGSTAR at the Zoo’s carousel, standup comedians holding court at the petting zoo, exotic animal encounters, and pop-up zookeeper talks throughout the evening. Roaring Nights offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience the Zoo in a completely new way, for foodies and nature lovers alike.
- Coolhaus has created an ice cream sandwich called Monkeying Around, featuring vegan chocolate banana truffle cookies and bananas foster ice cream, along with a collectable magnet available only at Roaring Nights
- Crepe’n Around will offer The Zookeeper, a fresh mango crepe with coconut pastry cream, toasted coconut shavings, and mango coulis.
- The Grilled Cheese Truck has created the Safari Melt, made with animal crackers, cream cheese, banana, Nutella, served on brioche bread.
- Komodo Truck will be serving up their version of Nasi Goreng, an Indonesian steak stir-fried rice with homemade Garlic Aioli and Fried Egg, in honor of the Komodo Dragon from Indonesia – which will be on view during Roaring Nights!
Along with delicious food truck items, special libations include:
