June 9: Farm to Food Truck Challenge III

Save the date for our SoCo Farmers’ Market Clash of the Titans, on June 9th.
 
Our Farm to Food Truck Challenge III brings an epic challenge, where our Gourmet Food Trucks compete to win Top Chop Truck, using ingredients from our farmers market. Competitors of the Farm to Food Truck I, come back to defend their title, against challengers of our Farm to Food Truck II. Add some new faces to these fierce food truck competitors, and you’ve got yourself a battle.

Who will compete? Who will be the judge? All will be revealed as the June 9th date charges closer, promising a challenge of epic proportions. As 20 farmers and vendors, 15 food trucks, and 6 judges all come together at SoCo Farmers’ Market.

NEW OC TRUCK: A Bite Truck Launching in May

There’s a new OC food truck launching this May called A Bite Truck.  You might have seen him around –Keba worked Lime Truck while the guys were off filming the Great Food Truck Race, he has worked Barcelona on the Go, and he was recently the exec. chef for the kitchen at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana. 

A Bite Truck is debuting at the Bruery on May 18, with possible soft openings beforehand.

April 28/ 29: Las Vegas Foodie Fest

Las Vegas, NV – On April 28th & 29th Silverton Casino Hotel will host The Inaugural Las Vegas Foodie Fest, a Red Dragon Event in conjunction with Definitive Talents. This event will give people the chance to explore some of the most popular gourmet food trucks that have been featured on The Food Network and The Travel Channel. Attendees can also indulge in and experience a wide variety of the newest trends in the culinary arts. There will be more than 30 Gourmet Food Trucks including White Rabbit Truck, 15 Food Vendor Booths, Beer Garden, Farmer’s Market, and other great attractions.

April 29: Cerritos Community Festival

The community is invited to enjoy a weekend celebrating family, food and fun during the annual Community Spring Festival at Cerritos Regional Park starting today.

The festivities begin at 5 p.m. Friday, April 27 and last through the evening of Sunday, April 29.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of game booths, rides, entertainment, Classic Car display, and the always impressive Saturday night fireworks show.

Residents are also invited to peruse through the Town Hall display on Saturday between 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. to speak to representatives about the many services and programs offered by the city of Cerritos.
From noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, car enthusiasts can check out the Classic Car display, which will feature a plethora of classic makes and models.

And of course all locals are invited to stick around to help celebrate the city’s 56th Birthday by watching the fireworks show starting at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

An abundance of local entertainment will also be showcased on the Main Stage throughout the weekend, including entertainment from local talent in the Spring Dance Recital starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
But what is a festival without good food? Community organizations, local eateries and food trucks will be on-site selling delicious treats in the Taste of Cerritos area throughout the weekend. The food vendors and their scheduled times on the grounds are as follows:

Friday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Amie’s Funnel Cakes — Funnel Cakes, Hawaiian Shaved Ice
