Signal Hill: Global Soul, No Jodas

Got Foodtrucks? started a new food truck gathering at the Best Buy Signal Hill.
It was our first time trying No Jodas and we picked the Tazones, which were bowls filled with rice, black beans, sweet onions, topped with meat and maduros (sweet plaintains). Martin picked the chicken and I picked the steak.

We also went to Global Soul and ordered their signature Shrimp Toastie, which was 4 jumbo grilled shrimps on top of toast with a special sauce.

Cerritos: DosaTruck, Tapaboyla, Chunknchip

Just 24 hours ago, we were in Salt Lake City, UT buying food from The Lime Truck.

We made it back home at 1:00, and at 2:00 pm, we get a tweet asking if we were going to the city of Cerritos birthday celebration, where a bunch of LA food trucks were there, and there’s no line!

I picked up the “Slumdog” from the Dosatruck, which is like an indian crepe filled with curry, potatoes, and spinach.

Martin went to Tapaboyla and ordered the Tocino bowl, and went to Chunknchip to see if anyone said the secret word for the free Booyah. No one did!

While eating, Josh from Chunknchip joined us for lunch, and he had the Surf & Turf from Lee’s Philly.

Cerritos: the Yummy One

Karen was chasing Crepes Bonaparte and discovered a food truck gathering at the Sam Ash in Cerritos.
The Yummy One was there and Karen got the Bi Bim Bap, Martin got the Bi Bim Rice Wrap, and I got the Bulgogi Rice Wrap.

Torrance: Jogasaki, Ahn-Joo, Happy Cup Ramen, Tropical Shave Ice

Martin and Karen have been wanting to try Jogasaki since the day they rolled.  They tweeted they were going to be at South Bay Din Din a Go Go, so we made a trip to Torrance.  Martin ordered the #2, the Spicy Tuna Delight, and Karen got the CA Delight, a California Roll version minus the avocado (due to allergies).

Martin then went to Anh-Joo for the Kimchi Citrus Pork with Roasted Fuji Apples.

Meanwhile, I warmed up with a Tonkotsu Ramen and a steamed Curry Pork Bun from Happy Cup Ramen, ending my night with a snow capped, Melona-Vanilla-Passion Orange  Tropical Shave Ice.

The Yummy One is one of Martin’s favorite trucks. He chased them down for lunch at the City of Industry for the Bim Bim Bap and to check out their new wrapped truck.
