June 15-17: Long Beach, GFTS at Convention Center

Southern California’s hottest food trucks will be front and center at the Long Beach Convention Center on Friday, June 15 – Sunday, June 17 for Street Supper Club.

Guests are invited to indulge in a variety of fresh gourmet fare before enjoying an evening of musical entertainment as the Terrace Theatre hosts Sesame Street Live: “Elmo Makes Music!”

Win tickets and food to the YUM Festival

Lime Truck + PlaygroundDTSA helping charity BAMGAM

International non-profit children’s organization, Buy a Meal Give a Meal (BAMGAM), has partnered with the Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race winner, the Lime Truck.


For every carnitas fries sold, the Lime Truck will donate 25 cents to support the Second Harvest Food Bank and Jam International.

The $7 fries are the most popular item on the menu,  according to Lime Truck owner Daniel Shemtob.


Besides the Lime Truck, The Playground in Santa Ana and Roy’s in Newport Beach are also involved with BAMGAM.  The Playground contributes money for every pork chop entree they sell, while Roy’s organizes cooking demonstrations to raise money for BAMGAM.


BAMGAM Founder, Brandon Sowers, said that there are many other food trucks and restaurants that are currently interested in getting involved. BAMGAM is currently working with vendors in South Africa, Australia, and the U.S.

Ceviche (Blue crab, scallop and shrimp ceviche with lime juice and homemade chips (as seen on Good Morning America), Roasted corn (Served with Sriracha lime remoulade and cotija cheese) and, of course, a signature Lime Aid

ThreeHeartsBakeShop wants to start their own GFT

Three Hearts Bake Shop is an online bake shop located in Costa Mesa, and wants to become a food truck.

They’ve been featured in the local media on several occasions and would like the Orange County community to help with their dream by starting a project on Kickstarter.com.

A Bite Truck rolls into Fullerton

Orange County’s newest Gourmet Food truck, a Bite Truck, was at the Best Buy in Fullerton on Friday.  They’re still in the process of wrapping their truck, and unfortunately blended in with the crowd. 

I recognized Chef Keba and asked for a recommendation.  He replied their two most popular items are the Classic Bite (marinated filet mignon) over fries and the messy, but delicious Sassy Bite (chicken tikka masala). 

In 2003, Keba and Christna Parker started catering company “A Bite to Remember” before launching A Bite Truck.

If his name sounds familiar, Chef Keba is not new to the Gourmet Food truck community, having worked with two of Orange County’s award-winning gourmet food trucks  Barcelona on the Go (2010 Winner of the Best New Age Truck of the Year)  and The Lime Truck (winner of the  The Great Food Truck Race, season 2).
