MOE stands for Montreal Open-ended Eggrolls, but Chef Michael also calls his cuisine “Jewnese”. Inspired by the intermingling Chinese and Jewish food scenes in his native Montreal, Chef Michael and his hilarious wife Emily are invigorating L.A.’s street food scene one totally unique deep-fried pastrami sandwich at a time!

What they will cook for us:
The Big MOE: Char-siu BBQ brisket with a mango, carrot, red onion slaw with sambal for a bit of spice deep-fried to order and served with a house-made chinese aoili for dipping. The brisket is braised in garlic, ginger, five- spice, soy sauce and various asian sauces and slow-cooked for four hours.
The Reuben: Sliced pastrami on MOE slaw, served with housemade Russian dipping sauce. A total reinvention of the classic pastrami sandwich.
